Ben Avery Clay Crushers

Welcome Parents and Athletes

Our season starts in the fall and ends in the spring (Usually September to April) with some athletes going to the SCTP Nationals continuing to practice until mid-summer.

New athletes will be required to attend a safety orientation by one of our coaches at their first practice. If you have not registered your athlete please click the link 24-25 Registration Package.pdf for the registration forms. Registration includes: hat, t-shirt, team vest, practice ammunition, targets and coaching.  Additionally, basic eye and ear protection are available at the first practice but its best the athlete obtain their own. For those athletes who do not own a shotgun, we have loaner shotguns available.

Athletes will need to bring 4 things with them for each practice: hat, safety glasses, ear protection and team vest (these items are mandatory for all practices).

Practice dates will be posted here on the website.  Every practice day will consist of a sign-in where there will be a sheet with your coach and the field you will be practicing on for the day.  If you need a loaner shotgun let your coach know at sign-in and you will be sent to get your shotgun and practice ammunition. Athletes are not allowed in the shotgun or ammunition storage vault.  When your coach calls your name please follow them to your practice field.

Our coaches will train your athlete in the American three shot gun shooting sports, Trap, Sporting Clays and Skeet.  Please understand ALL coaches are volunteers and have completed a certified coach training course.  Many times our coaches may even be taking time off work to coach your child.  At the end of each practice all athletes are asked to help clean the practice field by picking up the spent hulls.  Arizona Game and Fish manages the Clay Target Center which is usually closed when we practice so we are required to leave it ready for the next day.
